Toku Hachiken is the great-great-grandmother to Yugo Hachiken and wife to Hachi.

Toku is part of the Ainu clan. She has a tomboy personality and can be easily mistaken as a man than a woman.

Toku is a trained Ainu hunter and warrior; her abilities includes snow sledding, animal trapping, spear throwing, and melee combat.

Appearance

Toku is a tomboy, appearing more masculine than feminine like her great grandson Kazumasa Hachiken. However, when wearing glasses, her eyes make her look more feminine.

History

Early Days

Toku worked in a village named Kotoni, located west of Sapporo, as a hunter along with her friend Pekushi.

Meeting Hachi

While hunting with Pekushi, she saved Hachi from a bear that ended up being caught in a deer trap. When brought back to the village, she initially told them Hachi was a distant relative to cover for him. She told him to stay and help work the land, eventually leading to her accepting his proposal.
